The announcement was part of the Ubisoft Forward presentation helping to kick off E3 and, fittingly, followed another glimpse at Far Cry 6’s own villain, Anton Castillo. Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed all return as part of the DLC, where players will get to control each villain to see how twisted the other side truly is. The original voice actors will be returning to bring life to these characters once again, alongside updated versions of the Rook Islands, Kyrat, and Hope County for players to see and explore from the villainous side.

Gameplay in the DLC appears to remain largely unchanged from what fans expect out of the Far Cry series. The world’s will still be explorable and gunplay should be familiar to most fans of the series. The focus appears to be concentrated on the perspective-shift, represented in the updated world designs. The Rook Islands, Kyrat, and Hope County all appear in somewhat twisted forms to reflect the minds of Vaas, Pagan, and Joseph, respectively.

Far Cry has not shied away from showing off how twisted its villains are, and this DLC looks to take it to another level. It remains to be seen just how dark things may get, but with characters like Vaas and Pagan Min, it’s safe to say the bright spots may be few and far between. These are characters who are, as Ubisoft described them, people someone could see sitting with them at the dinner table who can seemingly convince anyone their viewpoint is correct. It’s this aspect that helps make these characters so unnerving and adds an extra level of intrigue into this DLC.
