While Far Cry 6 doesn’t seem to have a clear connection to previous games in terms of its story, Ubisoft isn’t afraid to provide plenty of clues and Easter eggs for longtime fans to find. There’s plenty of examples of other Ubisoft franchises like Assassin’s Creed appearing as subtle nods in these games, though with this release, the developer has made sure fans can find connections to past Far Cry games as well. In addition to an interesting Far Cry 3 connection in the post-credits scene, the Bliss flower has managed to find its way back into this series.

Inside of Far Cry 5, Bliss was a drug used by Joseph Seed and his cult in order to convert and brainwash people to their cause. The drug comes from a plant with white flowers that caused hallucinations when exposed for long periods of time. Inside of Far Cry 6, one player has found an interesting little callback to the Bliss Flower during a mission called The Seeds of Love. In the side quest, players are tasked with helping Lorenzo Canseco in Sierra Perdida reunite with his seven children.
At Oceguera Farm when searching for the fourth child, Far Cry 6 players find a white flower in a small pot emblazoned with the symbol of Joseph Seed’s Eden’s Gate cult. Upon interacting with the flower, the player experiences the familiar hallucinations and green mist as they follow what appears to be a dancing woman through the jungle. As players follow the ghostly woman encased in green mist, they’ll eventually come to Lorenzo’s daughter, Riel.
While subtle, the flower’s appearance is a neat callback to Far Cry 5. However, the references to previous games don’t stop there as Ubisoft previously announced that upcoming DLC for the latest game will let players experience gameplay as past Far Cry franchise villains Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed. While there’s still a lot unknown about the content, the gameplay appears to focus on shifting the perspective, not only letting players step into the shoes of these villains, but experience a twisted version of The Rook Islands, Kyrat, and Hope County, Montana.
Far Cry 6 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
