Big night in the NBA with nine games on the slate. There are a lot of top-tier players to like tonight, so you’re going to want to save money at the shooting guard and small forward position to spend up on some stud players. There are plenty of story lines tonight with revenge games, players not making the All-Star game (Damian Lillard), and injuries that will open up some DFS value plays in DraftKings....

Myeni, a 29-year-old citizen of South Africa, was shot dead during a struggle with officers after he entered a home in the Nuuanu neighborhood on April 14, prompting a female occupant to call 911. At a news conference on Wednesday, Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm shared the findings of a two-month investigation into the fatal shooting of the Black man, reported local TV station KHON2. Alm played police body camera footage showing Myeni punching responding officers, leaving one with facial fractures and a concussion....

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, 79-year-old Fred Hensley Sr. has been charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after allegedly shooting his adult son, 50-year-old Fred Hensley Jr. The former had become angry because his son had been playing the guitar for too long, the Blue Ash Police Department confirmed in a report on the incident. The weapon allegedly used in the Sunday shooting was a .380 pistol. Hensley Sr....

The Gophers released a statement on Monday explaining that, while the team’s staff of trainers and doctors would not allow him to suit up, the school would still honor his scholarship and find a place for him to stay busy within the basketball program. The big injury worries at the beginning of the week are Ronald Jones (ankle), Michael Carter (concussion), Damien Harris (hamstring), Miles Sanders (hand), James Conner (heel), and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder), but chances are more will pop up closer to the weekend. Aaron Jones and likely AJ Dillon (@ Lions) also figure to play sparingly, if at all, setting up Patrick Taylor for a big Week 18 – just like we all predicted back in Week 1....

Who will establish themselves in the top four early on? Who will be the pacesetters? Which manager will be the first to face the sack? Will Jose Mourinho overcome his third season syndrome? As we head into Gameweek 2, all these questions will be directed towards an answer to be unearthed in the coming weeks or months. The weekend kick-starts when Cardiff host Newcastle. The Saturday goal rush will then see Southampton welcoming Everton, the spirited Wolves taking on Leicester City, Spurs hosting Fulham and West Ham battling it out against the Cherries....

Surely it has been wise to invest in a couple of premium defenders this season and the options have been aplenty. Remember that a 4 point haul that a defender gets is similar to what a striker gets for a solitary goal. Hence we see the teams with a high number of clean sheets having high points yielding defenders. Their importance in the fantasy game cannot be overlooked. In addition to McCaffrey and Hunt, Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Dontrell Hilliard/D’onta Foreman are on bye. That takes away some top backs, and even more could be missing depending on who’s out because of injuries. We know Kamara and Swift will be “questionable,” but Dalvin Cook (shoulder), Ezekiel Elliott (knee), Jordan Howard (knee), and Mark Ingram (knee) are also going to require fantasy owners to watch the practice reports....

You know it’s around Week 1 or 2 when you see the “Be-Patient-With-Stars” theme. It’s probably around Week 2 or 3 when someone trots out the “Grab-Potential-Breakout-Players” trope. If you read a column with the “Injuries-Are-Destroying-Your-Team” allegory, then you know it’s Week 3 or 4. That one might linger into Week 5 if you see your shadow while reading. Obviously, nothing happened in Week 1 that will change Travis Kelce (vs. Chargers), Mark Andrews (vs. Dolphins), George Kittle (vs. Seahawks), Darren Waller (vs. Cardinals), and Kyle Pitts (@ Rams) being somewhere in the top five when healthy. Thankfully, all but Kittle (groin) made it through Week 1 healthy and intact. Kittle was at least “questionable” leading up to Sunday’s game, so we’re hoping he can return this week....

There aren’t any incredibly tough matchups to discuss with the studs at the position, but it is worth noting Kyle Pitts is off the table with a Week 6 bye. Juwan Johnson and Adam Trautman are on a bye, too, but they’ve been a tough duo to trust to begin with. George Kittle (calf) would’ve been a big loss this week if he wasn’t already on IR and out until Week 8....
