In a recent interview with WCCFTech, the Far Cry 6 developers confirmed that ray tracing will be a PC-exclusive feature for the game. According to the developers, the goal with the console version of Far Cry 6 was to optimize its performance, targeting 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Apparently including ray tracing would’ve jeopardized that goal, which is unfortunate news for any PS5 or Xbox Series X owners who wanted to see Far Cry 6 use ray tracing....

In the meantime, there are a bunch of Far Cry spin-off games that use the opportunity to explore interesting locales and themes, albeit on a much smaller scale. Fans who haven’t tried them yet have missed out on a lot, and should definitely try a couple of these in anticipation of the next release.
